The Opportunity
What The Punk Is the brain child of founder Christopher Scott Caldwell and the team over at Ovations Global Network INC.
WTPunk, provides thousands of students around the globe an opportunity to convene for Florida’s first and only international dance festival dedicated to the preservation of 60s 70s and 80s underground music and dance cultures. This historical three day Pose | Funk | Revive Festival is headlined by some of the street dance communities most iconic forces and pioneers such as PUNKING’s last living original Viktor Manoel, and the international father of the iconic House of Ninja, Archie Burnett.
WTPunk, is a rare and bona fide resource for education and preservation of the origins of these dance styles— how their done, and how to teach them. Our guest teachers and performers are pioneers of their craft. WTP for many, serves as once-in-a-lifetime access to these dance icons, to learn from, and express their personal growth. WTP also serves to honor dances born from the LGBTQ community by offering a global platform to learn the rich history behind the culture, the people, their struggle, and their impact on the arts and society as we know it today.
This festival is curated by Ovations Global Network INC, a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.

Who We’re Looking For:
+Acts depicting Street/club styles born out of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s
+Solo acts, duos, and crews, musical guests welcome
+Must be at least 18 yrs. old to perform
+All are welcome to submit
+One of a kind, ground breaking debut performances with historical integrity of the style intact
The Gig:
+Performance area is ground level. (Approx: TBA)
+Sound & general lighting equipment such as speakers, lights, cables, monitors, PAs will be provided
+Water will be provided back stage
+5-10 minute performance sets
Compensation:
+1 comp ticket per group member
+Artist will be given a unique discount code to offer their friends, family and fans.
+Artists may sell merch on-site

Requirements:
+Artist agrees to promote their What The Punk performance via all their social networks, website and eblast list.
+Artist will be given a unique discount code to offer their friends, family and fans.
+Submission Fee – There is NO FEE to submit performances/dances for review. After you submit your information and files, a confirmation email will be sent upon submission.
Submissions Open Jan 1st, 2023 & Close July 30, 2023
Once submissions close, all artists will be notified of project completion when we select our top 3 favorite submissions. Then we’ll create a survey for fans of What The Punk (and each of the top 3 artists/groups selected) to vote on the winner who will be showcased at What The Punk 2023! The winner will be announced on March 1st.
