Queer Dance Party: Prance, Kiki, Connect
@WTPUNKFEST in partnership with Compass Gay and Lesbian Center and our newest collaborators SKATE SUNDAE are calling all freaks, geeks, fairies, and floor rockers to join our monthly Queer Dance Open Session and Clothing Swap. It's a Skate event, meets dance party, meets kiki with your bestie, meets LGBTQ+ social event, meets FREE shopping extravaganza. Come as you are! Bring some threads if you want. We will take care of the food, music, and the moves.
These 2 hour dance parties are FREE and by donation. Each session is hosted by a rotating roster of Legends and Icons from the underground Punk, Ballroom, and Hip Hop communities, and will usually feature a guest DJ. The host will be available the entire time to demonstrate/teach/guide anyone new to the dances! We will dance everything from Vogue, to House, to Whacking and more! Non-Dancers and skaters welcome too!
This event encourages all attendees to take advantage of Compass cummunity centers various LGBTQ+ outreach programs: Testing, Health services, Youth support, Business alliance, Community service. Once your done, you can step right back on the dance floor!
If everyone still wants to jam after the session, we will all head over to the park or beach and kiki there. Great space to connect with new friends.
This community welcomes ALL levels of music and dance enthusiasts. No experience necessary. No matter your age, gender, sexuality, race, etc, you are encouraged to come prance, express YO-SELF, and connect with dope humans.

We are under the shared belief that community and performative expression can save lives. What The Punk Fest curates weekly, monthly, and youth led initiatives, as well as a culminating annual festival.
